The Manília team had wanted to visit Sándor and his confectionery in the Marján Confectionery in Eger in December.
The historic city of Eger offers visitors more than just cultural and gastronomic experiences. The Marján Confectionery, located in the heart of the city, is also a place to stop for a moment and enjoy the delicious sweets.
The confectionery opened in 1990 and has been a firm favourite with gooseberry lovers and visitors to the city ever since. The owner of the confectionery, Sándor Marján, has been passionate about baking and cooking since his childhood. The confectionery offers fresh cakes and desserts made only from natural ingredients.
The selection includes classic cakes such as the drum cake, the winner of the 2023 Hungary Cake of the Year competition, the Somló dumplings, the strudel specialities, but you must also try the cheese and savoury cakes. The confectionery's cakes are also famous and are often ordered for weddings and other events.
The cozy interior of the patisserie is ideal for relaxing and enjoying a delicious pastry, while the terrace is the perfect place to spend a pleasant summer afternoon.
